Installing a Roller offers flexibility and adapts to the aesthetics and functionality of your space. The main installation options are:
- Inside the frame recess, for a completely minimal result.
- On the wall (above the frame), typically 10 cm above the frame.
- On the ceiling, an option that adds height and grandeur to the space.
Technical Note: When installing inside a recess with an inward-opening frame, a minimum clearance is required:
- At least 7 cm for manual systems.
- At least 11 cm for motorized systems.
Our specialized technician will assess the particularities of your space and recommend the ideal solution.
The Roller systems we carry offer full installation flexibility — they can be mounted equally easily on the wall or on the ceiling. The specialized universal brackets allow secure and sturdy fixing on any surface, depending on the space requirements and the aesthetic result you desire.
In our showroom we carry three main fabric categories:
- Full Blackout Fabrics: Provide 100% blackout and optimal thermal insulation. Ideal for bedrooms and screening rooms.
- Screen Fabrics: Allow visual contact with the outside during the day while blocking visibility from outside to inside. Note: At night with lights on, visibility reverses.
- Dim-out & Decorative Fabrics: The largest range in our collection — plains, prints, wicker textures and natural fabric looks.
Installing large-format Roller systems and motorized mechanisms on plasterboard surfaces is entirely feasible, provided strict technical specifications are followed.
Installation is carried out exclusively by our specialist technical team. We use Fischer metal press-fit anchors, inserted with a dedicated pressing tool, ensuring maximum load capacity and absolute structural safety.
For consecutive Roller installations, the standard gap between fabrics is approximately 3.5 cm.
For a superior aesthetic result, we recommend using an intermediate bracket, which reduces the gap to approximately 2 cm, ensuring uniform shading.
For smooth operation of a motorized Roller, an electrical supply is required on the left or right side of the opening:
- Wireless Motors (Remote-controlled): A single power supply point is sufficient for multiple wireless mechanisms in the same room.
- Wired Motors (Switch-operated): Each mechanism requires its own independent power supply.
When there is no pre-existing electrical provision, the connection can be made via external cable routing to the nearest socket.
Indicative stacking table based on total system height:
- Height 1.00m → Stacking space: 17.50 cm
- Height 1.50m → Stacking space: 22.50 cm
- Height 2.00m → Stacking space: 27.00 cm
- Height 2.50m → Stacking space: 33.00 cm
- Height 3.00m → Stacking space: 38.00 cm
During the technical survey, we calculate these dimensions precisely to ensure smooth operation of your window treatments.
It depends on the motor technology. In the Somfy range:
- RTS Technology: Each unit stores up to 12 channels. If a motor is assigned to both an individual and group channel, it uses 2 memory slots.
- io-homecontrol Technology: The smart remote Nina io can manage up to 60 products. The Situo/Smoove io support up to 9 channels.
Yes! Modern automation technology allows multiple interior shading systems to be managed from a single remote. The key requirement is that all mechanisms belong to the same technology ecosystem (e.g. Somfy).
You can create usage "scenes", simultaneously controlling roller blinds, indoor venetian blinds and electric curtains throughout your home.
While some systems can be installed by yourself, our technical team ensures maximum functionality and longevity of the products.
Our team uses specialized equipment (laser levels, heavy-duty fixings) and has experience with demanding surfaces such as plasterboard or unstable masonry, ensuring every detail guarantees a flawless aesthetic and technical result.
Absolutely! Fabric replacement is possible and is an excellent solution for refreshing the look. However, it requires specialist handling by our technical team.
Correct alignment and precise fitting of the new fabric onto the roller tube are critical for smooth operation and to avoid damage to the mechanism.
Precision in measurements is critical for the final result:
- Inside recess: Width is measured at the narrowest point of the recess.
- Outside mount: Width extends 8 cm extra on each side (e.g. for a 150 cm opening → final size 166 cm).
- Height: Starts either from the ceiling or 10 cm above the opening.
In any case, the Kalogirou technical team carries out professional on-site measurements.
Unfortunately, this is not technically feasible. Roller fabrics have a special treatment (lamination) that gives them the necessary stiffness for smooth rolling on the tube.
Due to this specialized composition, Roller fabrics cannot be washed — maintenance is limited to spot cleaning with a damp cloth.
For successful integration of a motorized Roller inside a recess (hidden mechanism):
- Usable Recess Width: At least 10 cm
- Usable Recess Height: At least 12 cm (bracket width 7 cm, drop 9.5 cm)
The electrical provision can be positioned on either the right or left side of the recess.
For smooth curtain movement with Wave pleat on a motorized rail:
- Usable Recess Width: At least 14 cm
- Usable Recess Height: From 10 cm to 12 cm
Motorized rails are manufactured entirely by our technical team and offer full movement flexibility (single or double draw). The electrical provision is placed on the fabric stack side for complete concealment of the motor.
